A robust red blend that is everything but forgettable.
If you are looking for a red blend that is more than table wine, then this is it! Dark like the longest day of winter (which happens to be the day I drank this bottle), Casey Flat Ranch’s Estate Red Wine features rustic tones of earth, tobacco and plum. Awaking with floral tones and black fruit, it develops and expands on the palate. The balanced acidity and tannins offer a nice mouthfeel while the medium body allows you to keep drinking glass after glass. Surprisingly delicious and perfect for a winter night, the Estate Red is a blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc.
Casey Flat Ranch, located just a short drive from Sacramento in the Capay Valley, is a small winery and vineyard with country-wide, family values. On 24-acres of sustainable vineyards, the winery is only a modest portion of the 6000-acre western ranch, which also includes a longhorn cattle operation. As stewards of the land, the owners use farming techniques and materials that emphasize water and soil conservation.
Hand crafting an estate red blend and Sauvignon Blanc, Casey Flat Ranch really focuses on flavor and the resulting wine easily shows their devotion.
This wine was graciously provided by Brandon Hamill and the Sacramento Convention and Visitor’s Bureau team.
